Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Workshop
Chinese Active Citizens had its first event in London which focused on Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) including Domestic Violence.
Violence Against Women and Girls affects all communities, all walks of life and has gained increased attention both in the UK and globally. At this workshop, guest speakers from the legal profession, voluntary sector and government shared their knowledge of the topic, policy, pathways for domestic & foreign nationals and where to get support.


Jurassic Jeffrey – A Tale of Dinosaurs in Birmingham
Chinese Active Citizens worked with local community on a special theatre performance. Young performers from the Pauline Quirke Academy performed Jurassic Jeffrey – A Tale of Dinosaurs in Birmingham at Resorts World Birmingham on Sunday 22nd April for charity.
Chinese New Year Workshop
Celebrating Chinese New Year at Chinese Active Citizen UK’s Chinese cultural workshop! We promoted Chinese culture and festival through this free family event includes Chinese writing, Chinese craft, story telling and lots of fun!
Workshop on Trafficking, Exploitation & Supporting the Vulnerable
CACU teamed up with Home Office Immigration, NSPCC and West Midlands Police on another popular workshop: ‘ Trafficking, Exploitation & Supporting the Vulnerable ‘. This workshop benefited those working or looking to work with community groups, in volunteer sector, children/adult & elderly services, or those have general interest in the topic.
Community Visit to Historic Steelhouse Lane Police Station
CACU organised a community visit to take a final glimpse of the famous Victorian police station, built 1892 in central Birmingham. The famous carvings over the entrances, includes the coat of arms of Birmingham.This visit is about touring the historic police station final time before it closes. Tour includes the former custody cells and learning more about local police and their role in the community.
Keep Safe Workshop
CACU invited PC Jon Lander from West Midlands Police to talk about how to keep safe at an educational workshop for local Chinese community, followed by interactive Q&A sessions that built a deeper understanding between the Chinese community and West Midlands Police.
