I hope you are well. As the West Midlands Police Force Lead for Hate Crime I want to update you and reassure you on the work ongoing around hate crime matters linked to COVID-19 affecting the community.
作为西米德兰兹警方仇恨犯罪的负责人，我想向你汇报最新情况并向你保证，我们正在积极展开工作打击对当地华人产生严重影响的与COVID-19有关的仇恨犯罪。
Each and every report is taken seriously by West Midlands Police and is allocated for investigation to our Force CID Department. In my Force Lead role, I have put arrangements in place to monitor and scrutinise each report and the progress of each investigation. Additionally, as part of the daily Force-wide planning around COVID-19, hate crime concerns are captured and discussed.

Each report of hate crime not only is taken seriously by West Midlands Police but, importantly, they add to our understanding of what the community is experiencing and enables us to adjust things like where and when and how we deploy our resources. So the reporting has dual benefits.

I would encourage everyone to use of our West Midlands Police hate crime App not only does it provide useful advice and guidance but it enables people to report incidents directly to us or via third party reporting centres/organisations.
